WK 11: Who's Got The Digital Juice?
BOSTON, MA Friday Dec.16.2005 /FantasyMusicLeague.com/ -- Unwrap the FML Insider: Learn who beat you out of some sweet prizes, don't choke next season -- get strategies to win, why you can't pick an artist on how they look in jeans and we let you in on the offer that's too good to refuse.
In one of the closest games in FML history, only $600K separated the first and second place winners. However it is only Deadeye Records who has bragging rights as the champion of the 2005 Fall Season. To the victor go the spoils, and in this case, it's a cool five hundred bucks to Fetzmonger. Spend it on last minute holiday gifts or, more downloads of your favorite winning artists...whatever you want! But wait there is more; Fetzmonger also picks up a sweet iPod and scores of tracks. Just don't be sad if you didn't land in the number one spot because the top 20 labels each get some sweet prizes. Not to mention one of the coolest piece of clothing you will ever own, a FML long-sleeve t-shirt
The Winter 2006 season begins Monday, January 2nd. Once again the big news is, drum roll please it only costs $10 bucks to get in the game. That's a 70% slash in price. Do it now, because the deadline for finalizing your switches (and paying your registration fees) is noon PST on Monday January 2nd. Really faithful reader, this offer is too good to refuse. Not to mention we make it easy for you to keep going. There is a link on 'My Label's page to register.
As much as we want to say pick 'em on how they look in jeans; it's time to think strategic -it isn't always about appearances. Use those math and management tools you've honed to determine which of your stars are going to make the cash for you, whether you actually like their body of music or not. Perfect example is Nickelback. Nickelback was one of the top generators week after week yet surprisingly less than 20 percent of the labels signed them. If you really want to win this game, you have to combine basic business skills with your love of music.
Word on the web is that Janet Jackson's next studio album (eight if you are counting) is being finished and we should expect to hear the first single during this upcoming winter season. According to Jackson's producers and music maestros Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, there is a set on the disc that will boast a small tribute to Jackson's superstar-making disc 'Control.'
Have a wonderful holiday season.
